Resumen biográfico The psoriasis shows very clearly how the scientists in the investigation of skin diseases prevailed. Thus, more understanding is developed about the extent to which the persons concerned are restricted in their quality of life. In addition shampoo for seborrheic dermatitis, progress has been made in research on the genetic basis of psoriasis. The result is the development of new therapies. Professor Jörg Christoph Prinz from the dermatology clinic of the University of Munich has summarized the current research.

Two percent of the western population call psoriasis "their own". The disease remains in the majority of cases lifelong. It is not life-threatening. But those affected suffer the same in everyday life as those with cancer, severe heart failure, depression, joint inflammation and other serious medical conditions. This is proved by studies.

The average patient gets his psoriasis at 20 years. And they are then restricted for the rest of their lives - an average of 60 years. Disfiguring skin inflammation, weeks of hospital and spa stays, and often several hours of treatment effort every day, a psoriasis sufferer. Previously, therapies suppress the skin spots - after the end of therapy, most patients suffer from a rapid relapse and renewed need for treatment.

In recent years, the evidence that psoriasis is an autoimmune disease "mediated" by T-cells is accumulating. The most frequent triggers are almond infections. As with other autoimmune diseases, several genes are involved. T-Lyphocytes are activated by an antigen in the skin. The T cells then produce inflammatory medications seborrheic dermatitis natural treatment, which then enter the body in a psoriasis. The pathomechanisms are comparable in large areas to those of joint inflammation. Psoriasis can therefore be regarded as a rheumatism of the skin.

Researchers are now using T cells. There, according to her opinion, new medicines have to work. Now, psoriasis has become a "model disease": drugs that are developed for use in or on these T cells could then also be used for other autoimmune diseases. The researchers have it pretty simple here: they regard the success or even failure of the skin. Contrary to the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis, chronic inflammatory diseases or multiple sclerosis, the patient's vision is sufficient.

Large biotechnologically innovative pharmaceutical companies such as Immunex or Biogen are now concentrating on the development of medicines, which, as so-called biologicals, can suppress the increased T-cell function of psoriasis in a "natural way". This new drug group includes genetically engineered fusion molecules, which at least partly correspond to human protein building blocks.

They specifically target T cell activation by suppressing activation signals and neutralizing inflammatory mediators. Corresponding to the results obtained so far, long remissions how to cure seborrheic dermatitis can often be achieved. Psoriasis is also not healed with the new medicines. However, the new treatment procedures simplify treatment for the patient: they are easy to administer and have a quick and lasting effect.
